Introduction - 1998

• The Seville was redesigned for 1998, with an all-new body.
• The new body was made about 50% stiffer than 1997, using one-piece side panels and floor
  as well as the famous hydroformed side beams connecting the firewall with the rear fender
  through A- and C-pillars.
• The chassis components where also new, with a high performance SLA rear suspension.
• Up front, projection headlamps where used togehter with an additional regular high beam bulb.
  During daytime, other running lamps are used.
• New features from 1998 models where Magnasteer III, Bose 4.0 (including RDS)
  and Adaptive seating.
• Power Tilt & Telescopic steering column
• Power front headrests
• All five seats where equipped with three point lap-shoulder safety belts,
  front seats with pretensioners.
• Rear turn indicators orange/amber on all models
• Export models where a few millimeters shorter than 5 meters, while US models where a few
  inches longer due to largers bumpers front and rear.

New for 1999

• Massaging Lumbar was introduced as an option

New for 2000

• Redesign of the engine was made with coil on plug ignition and changed valve sizes.
  The engine produces same power and torque as before, now on regular power
  and with better mileage.
• Improvements where made to StabiliTrak and the CVRSS.
• Passanger airbag deployment was restricted when seat was empty or occupied by a child
• Ultrasonic Rear Parking Assist was added.
• GPS-based Navigational system was introduced as an option in the US.
  Canadian byers had to wait until 2002.
  Plans where made to provide a sourced navigational system for the Japanese market
  from the start in 1998, if this was done is unkwon to me.

New for 2001

• New steering wheel with Cruise controls at the bottom spokes
• 17 inch wheels where standard for the STS

New for 2002

• Finally, the new emblems where also used in the Seville
• Export/European models had Xenon lights
• DVD-based Navigational system, one disk for USA

New for 2003

• Magneride, the world's fastest reacting suspension, was introduced.

New for 2004

• The final year of the front wheel drive Seville.
