Second generation [1980-1985]


 The Seville was developed in the early seventies as
"The American Answer" to the increasing number of
imports that where chosen by the American
buyers instead of the domestic luxury car alternatives.

The second generation Seville was based on the
Eldorado, which was redesigned for model year 1979.

The second generation Seville has:

  • Front wheel drive and individual rear suspension.
  • Hard top doors (i.e. frameless windows)
  • Full perimeter frame
  •

    1981 Seville script moved ahead of front wheel, vinged crest on taillamp lenses (1981 onwards)
    1982 HT-4100 emblem, gray bumper inserts
    1983 Grille has horizontal emphasis and sleeker top moulding
    1984 Body coloured side mouldings, clear outer tail lamp lenses
    1985 No major changes as this is the last year of this generation, other Cadillacs where restyled for 1985
